Dar es Salaam: Tanzanian music stars Diamond and Vanessa Mdee have been nominated for MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMA).

‘Nana’ featuring Nigeria’s Mr. Flavor from Nigeria is nominated in Best
Male Act category where he will compete against AKA (South Africa),
Davido (Nigeria), Sarkodie (Ghana) and Wizkid (Nigeria).
The Bongo Flava star has also been
nominated for the Best Collaboration award for his hit ‘Bumbum’ which he
featured Iyanya from Nigeria. Diamond’s last nomination is on the ‘Best
Live’ category.
Vanessa Mdee aka Vee Money is on the
Best Female Act shortlist where she is competing against Bucie (South
Africa), Busiswa (South Africa), Seyi Shay (Nigeria) and Yemi Alade
(Nigeria).
MAMA will be hosted on July 18, 2015 in Durban, South Africa.

Diamond whose real name is Naseeb Abdul
has also been nominated for African Artist of the Year in the Nigeria
Entertainment Awards (NEA). Others in the same category are Eddie Kenzo
